ico design - V&A Village Fete

The V&A Village Fete is selection of events that have a take on traditional English Fete. Ico Design installed an event based on a wartime grocery shop, the idea being that around the time of the Blitz and the rationing that happened soon after. all that was available on the shelves was Spam.

They designed a giant catapult that visitors fire fruit at the tins of span to win prizes and earn points. This is a really fun piece of design but that gets people and kids learning about a serious subject.

Although the style of this project is not related to my own, the concept and the idea of dealing with our past and teaching it others is an important factor to me. The interactive design has make this piece a real success an its something i will consider for my own future projects.
